Using the USB cable, connect your Trezor device to your computer. The device's screen will display a welcome message, guiding you to visit trezor.io/start.
To enable communication between your Trezor device and your computer, you'll need to install Trezor Bridge. Go to trezor.io/start and download the appropriate version for your operating system. Follow the installation instructions provided.
Once Trezor Bridge is installed, navigate to wallet.trezor.io in your web browser. This will bring up the Trezor Wallet interface, where you will manage your cryptocurrencies.
In the Trezor Wallet interface, you'll be prompted to initialize your device. Click on the "Create new wallet" option. The device will display a unique code to verify that the wallet is correctly paired with the Trezor. Confirm the code on both the device and the screen.
Your Trezor device will generate a 24-word recovery seed. This seed is crucial for recovering your wallet if the device is lost or damaged. Write down each word in order on the provided recovery seed card. Store this card in a secure location, separate from your Trezor device.
To ensure you have accurately recorded your recovery seed, the Trezor device will ask you to confirm it by selecting certain words from the list. Complete this step to finalize the backup process.
For added security, set a PIN for your Trezor device. This PIN will be required each time you connect your device to a computer. Follow the prompts on the device and enter your desired PIN.
Your Trezor device may require a firmware update. If prompted, follow the instructions to download and install the latest firmware version. This ensures your device has the latest security features and improvements.
With your Trezor device initialized, you can now add accounts for different cryptocurrencies. In the Trezor Wallet interface, select the cryptocurrencies you wish to manage and follow the prompts to add them to your wallet.
Your Trezor device is now set up and ready to use. You can receive, store, and send cryptocurrencies securely. Regularly update your firmware and keep your recovery seed safe.
